Location

In a small Derb in one of the oldest quarters of the Medina of Marrakesh, you will find Riad Wardat Rih, a small family-run guest house. At only a stone's throw away from the
Museum of Marrakesh, the Medersa Ben Youssef and the carpets and blacksmithery souks, and 10 minutes walk from the Jemaa el Fna square, it is situated in the very heart of the traditional walled city, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Yet, the
tranquility within the Riad carries you miles away from the hustle and
bustle of the busy Medina.

When sat in the luxurious garden, all one can hear are the birds singing and the sound of the water fountain.

Riads are the traditional form of housing built around a square garden, which is typical of the Medinas.
Riad Wardat Rih was restored only a few years ago, with a particular
attention to traditional details in the architecture and furniture. The five suites open onto a garden with citrus trees and a central fountain. Guests can choose between this, and the lounge, the very generous roof terrace with views on the red city walls and the dramatic snow-capped Atlas mountains and the large traditional tent, to have a meal or simply relax after a long day
visiting.

The decoration in each room is
inspired by the arts and crafts of one of the ancient North African ethnic groups which have infuenced the
culture of this region. 

All rooms on  the first floor are
equipped with air-conditioners.

Welcome

Guests visiting for the first time may prefer to leave the taxi bargaining for later, in which case we will be happy to welcome you directly at Marrakesh airport/train station.
Otherwise, Brahim will come and
meet you at the entrance of the
Medina, and show you the way to the Riad. His experience as a guide allows him to give some valuable advice on visits, either in the city or towards the beautiful and perhaps less known areas of southern
Morocco.

Your Stay

Riad Wardat Rih is a place to spend some quality time with friends or family, and an ideal base to plan your visits. We work independently and our counselling is free. We would be delighted to point out for you on a map the most interesting places we have discovered during our trips. Brahim may also be able to guide you further South, if the riad is not too busy.

The food at Wardat Rih

The imperial city of Marrakesh is located on a plateau that opens onto the mountains, sea, desert and hills. In the same way as the landscapes of Morocco meet here, so do the different Moroccan flavours meet in the Marrakchi kitchen.

Every day, Latifa suggests a
traditional Moroccan dish, prepared with fresh seasonal produce and a healthy use of ingredients. We also offer a complete range of vegetarian dishes and fish. Just pass by the kitchen and let Latifa know your
choice before 1pm for dinner.
